Sovereign AI / A practical scope

Define control where it matters.

For a sovereign AI project, a European datacenter is one part of the answer. Model choice, software dependencies, administrative access, data flows and service terms also determine how much control your organisation has.

We work through these decisions with you. European data residency, customer access rules and open-weight model options form the starting point; the agreed service scope sets out the deployment in detail.

What is European AI infrastructure?

It is the combination of compute, datacenter facilities, networks and supporting services used to run AI workloads in Europe. Riveon’s development approach also includes battery storage, grid services and waste heat recovery.

Is EU data residency the same as data sovereignty?

No. Residency describes where data is processed and stored. Sovereignty also involves control, access, legal arrangements and dependencies. These points need to be considered together for each deployment.

Can we start with inference before planning a larger cluster?

Yes. The GreenGridLabs pilot in Southern Finland provides a starting point for one selected open-weight model up to the 8B class. Larger configurations and connected data services are scoped separately.
